The Minority Outreach Committee (now The Diversity Leadership Council) was activated in 1994 with the vision of maximizing the full potential of each minority cadet and graduate.
During this short tenure, we've hosted four minority outreach conferences, and begun to inspire acceptance and participation across campus interests.
The recent 2004 conference raised the bar; with presentations from several Flag Officers, including Major General Larry R. Ellis on assignment in Iraq, and Major General Ron Johnson, the Chief Engineer in that nation for the Corp of Engineers. Booz Allen Hamilton, a McLean, VA based Consulting firm, was the primary sponsor; the first step in what we expect to be a long and mutually beneficial partnership. On to 2005!
Our Mission

- To serve as a conduit which the minority alumni communities (prospective candidates, cadets, family members, graduates, staff & faculty) of West Point can use to assist in promoting the mission of the United States Military Academy
- Act as the collective representative group for interested minority graduates without limiting direct graduate access to the AOG
- Devise and recommend programs which target opportunities to increase minority participation in all Academy activities.
